The Journey for Justice, in Palestine, organized by the JAI for international and Palestinian youth, took place from the 30th of July to the 7th of August 2022. International youth came from Denmark, USA and Argentina.
The Journey included guided tours where the participants witnessed the Israeli colonies (settlements), settlers' bypass roads, parts of the Israeli concrete and fence apartheid wall, helping farmers in the village of Wad Fukin, hike tours in Battir and Hussan villages, guided tour in Hebron old city and into the Shuhada street and Ibrahimi Mosque (Tombs of the Patriarchs), guided tours in Jerusalem old city, Al-Aqsa Mosque/Dome of the Rock and with the Israeli Committee Against House Demolition (ICAHD).
It also included guided tours inside the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem, Environmental Education Center in Bethlehem, inside Aida Refugee Camp in Bethlehem, in Ramallah and the shrine of late president Arafat, and a visit to Nabi Saleh village, where they met Tamimi family.
They met and chatted with various Palestinian youth, including the program participants, at the Environmental Education Center, and at Lajee Center at Aida Refugee Camp. Various presentations were given to the participants, included the JAI and the Olive Tree Campaign, Kairos Palestine Initiative, the Boycott-Divestment-Sanctions (BDS) Campaign, the geopolitical situation in Hebron, the ongoing displacement and right of return at Badil Center.
An advocacy session was organized at the end of the Journey, which discussed what most sessions or tours created impacts on them, and the actions, activities and campaign they would organize or participate in when they get back to their countries and communities.
