Sheikha Salih Abu-Rajab is a 65 years old farmer, from Asira Al-Qibliya village, south of the Nablus area, who owns 0.6 acres of land, where the Israeli colony (settlement) of “Yitzhar” was constructed nearby.
Her land was frequently attacked by the Israeli settlers and soldiers, including bulldozing, uprooting of 42 olive trees, preventing her and her family from accessing her land, and declaring it is a closed military area. In 2000, the Israeli soldiers took over all her land, set a military tower, and planted mines surrounding it. In 2008, they moved away.
In 2021, Sheikha approached the JAI’s Olive Tree Campaign, and said that ‘her soul was restored’ when she was granted 50 olive trees, sponsored by internationals. She planted them in her land to save it.
